England rugby team ireland game

What its not great for is tackling. Most teams seem to view it as an optional extra. Hahaha Don! I have an opinion that England do like to play a continuity game and keep the ball off the deck and decided to check the facts to see if was correct or not. The SH national teams come out of S Probably not in yr case. I like Super Rugby, I follow the Highlanders probably the most extreme example of a high temp and constant offloading. When pressure is on and games are tight the expansive stuff tends to go out the window.

ABs 8 — 7 France, only try from a prop is a perfect example. Super Rugby would also appear to be better than world cups. The record, NZ — won 1, lost 1, Aus — won 1, lost 1, SA — lost 3, drew 1, as you say, looks ok on the surface. Move on from it, we had a great game, you had a poor one. It will be a huge test for a lot of young players and I hope a few will come through it and cement their places for I sometimes wonder whether some you guys are serious about yr take on how yr team is doing. It often seems fanciful.

You have to in the real world. Compare England being 4th in the rankings v the SH then. An accident do you think? And picking 1 e. Would have given an entirely diff slant. Neither being an absolute of course. Nart mean? Past his sell by. And yr unoriginal shot about away from home WC wins so far is so passe now.

Dream on. Diving into rucks? Why are they meant to be faster than other players for crying out loud? The fwds? The centres? No wonder England are 2nd tier if your thinking is permeating their game. Of with which I happen to agree. And if a winger sets up and creates a try for another player to finish i.

When games are tight and tense they become less free flowing spectacles. Yes we need to score point points to progress not just concede fewer , but there are signs of progress in the attacking game finally which is all we can ask for.

One step at a time! I find it best to revert to simple, factual responses when one lets ones emotions permeate their written communication. The wingers job is many-fold, Essentially though it is to provide cover in defence, as part of a back 3 or sometimes 4 , and provide an outlet, often but not exclusively in the wider areas of the pitch, to exploit gaps created by others in the team, using their running skills.

Further — pace is an important part of this job, but evasive running is probably more important. Often though, the two come together. If they score tries, as many of the best wingers do, this is great. Wingers do not find themselves in the position to do so as often as others, but if a winger cannot ruck effectively he can be a weak link in the team.

This has not always been the case of course, but you are right to note that the game has evolved. I would say though, and perhaps this is where you are getting a little muddled, that they are very often best placed to score tries, particularly when a defence has been stretched laterally, and space is created in the wider areas. I would also add that as they tend to have a very fluid positioning in attack, their pace can be very useful in supporting players, who have broken the tackle line in any area of the pitch.

They will often use their pace to follow up punts by team-mates. This though is very subjective, but it is not uncommon for people to make an assumption between wingers scoring and attractive rugby.

It probably comes from the old days when rugby was far simpler and then the wingers were often not the best passers, ruckers or tacklers. Could be the forwards Furno and Warburton at the weekend for example , it could be the Centres as has actually happened often in this 6N Scotland, England, Italy and France spring to mind , or indeed anyone else Allan, Care this past weekend for example.

Speak for yourself. Or are you a royal? As an aside, what an ironic state of affairs this is whereby, I am told by someone I do not know, and using dubious grammar, how I should construct sentences on a Rugby message board. To put your mind at rest, I do not attempt to speak on your behalf. Whomever else I do speak for shall remain unknown, and I have to say I will continue to communicate as I wish, so I would apologise in advance if you find this irritating.

It is not my intent. I actually played on the wing yrs ago. My main job was to score tries. It all goes per shaped innit? I played prov rugger there FCOL, albeit yrs ago, as a nipper. All players roles are manifest. Well, actually, he might be worth… didley. Close Menu Home. England Rugby. Club Rugby. Rugby Predictions. Will they beat Ireland on Saturday? Really wish there was a like button on here!! He certainly does offer something different from Brown — just not in a good way.

Possibly, but a tall one. Attacking is not the way england play. Well Dean, you are certainly encouraging debate. Stirring debate. Age Grade. Touch Rugby. Spirit of Rugby. Welcoming Clubs. Club Funding. Strategic Plan. Energia Bateman Cup. Energia Junior Cup. Women's Community Series. Aviva Minis. This is a justifiable debate. Ireland's call? Maybe we should do the Haka instead. JimmyC replied: In several cases, the adopted-nationals are fringe players who would not normally feature, and more than usual are featuring because of the massive injury list.

Some comments have been made re blocking young Irish talent, but recent caps or additions to the squad include Doris, Connors, Keenen, Baird, Byrne, Kelleher, so that narrative is wide of the mark. More replies 3 down. Comment posted by Kevin marshall, at 18 Nov Kevin marshall.

Looking forward to this , reckon Ireland will ask questions of england but think england will play clever and Ford will start I reckon. Either way should be a good craic.

Comment posted by wilts, at 19 Nov wilts Ireland very capable of beating England so should be a good game of Rugby. Looks like Ireland have basically ditched the few experimental players they were using for the Wales game, and have filled in for injuries.

I actually think they'll be a better side with Byrne in. With Sexton you're almost waiting for him to break now. JimmyC replied: Having Ross Byrne in there simplifies things a bit, taking attention away from Ross has a battle on his hands with Burns on the bench, his own younger brother playing well at Leinster and Ben Healy coming through strongly in Munster More replies 18 down. Residency rules should only be relevant if the player moved to the country in question before their 18th birthday. Happy for players to adopt another country in their childhood, but once you are playing elite rugby, you shouldn't be able to play for the country that pays the most. More replies 5 down. Disappointed with the non-Irish contingent in the team. I mean, you'd never get England using players born in another country would you? The miracle of Bristanbul replied: Being born somewhere is not always a true reflection of your nationality though. George North was born in England but I wouldn't deny him being a proud Welshman. You can also have a dual affiliation. Mako Vunipola is proud to play for England, as that is where he grew up, but also has an affinity for Tonga.

Thankfully we live in a diverse and accepting society. More replies 13 down. Comment posted by poth ale, at 18 Nov poth ale. Only 8 overseas players selected - 3 of them with grandparent qualifications. With Furlong, Scannell, Kilcoyne, Baird, Leavy, Conan, Sexton, Carbery, Ringrose, Henshaw and Larmour not yet available to Farrell through injury or recovery, he's been forced into trialling new players whether he wants to or not. If they can keep the losing margin to under 10, they should keep building for the future.

Nothing wrong with someone representing a country they were brought up in or have grown and developed in Manu T for example. You can go to Uni for 3 years.
