Although the EPG isn't cached in its entirety, there's still plenty of information visible when you resume from standby, so there's no waiting to see what's on immediately.
Seven channels are visible at all times, but you can also choose how much information is shown - either one, two or four hours' worth. As with all Freeview boxes, you get the option to record an entire series or just one show. A nice touch is that you're offered alternative showings of the same programme if both tuners are already recording other shows. As well as recording two channels at once, you can watch a recorded programme, and all three can be in HD - just as you'd expect. Sign up for our daily newsletter Newsletter.

Posted Would you class this as a buying aid comment by Sagemcom? I have been reading the forum on their own site and people are complaining that Sagemcom have removed the posts were they indicated iPlayer would be available!

Your Sagemcom UK Team. And another march Dear manc and Emzyme, We are currently working toward the release of v3. Furthermore it will implement a media centre that allows the import of mp3 and jpg files and the export of SD recordings all via the USB port. Furthermore we have added a picture-in-picture function and an amplified RF Loop-through option to the new software version.
We will announce the exact release date once the version has been fully validated and tested. Thanks for those, but they are not evidence of lying. It is more than likely that they were working with that intention.
Evidence would have to show that they never had any intention of adding iplayer. I don't think that is true, and I doubt there will be any evidence of it. I'm sure this is true but winning a contract for Freesat may help them decide to drop us and focus elsewhere.
The above comments did help to sell units! Mutley said:. Caz41 said:. Looking forward to Youview myself Tom but I reckon it's a year away yet.
To say you will do something one week, then not do it without an acceptable explanation can surely be seen as lying until the explanation is given. I'd far rather flood Sagemcom with issues that they can address, rather than asking questions about something they can't. I'm not particularly happy with the front display either, but I accept that it will be there for the duration!
I'm more concerned that they still haven't implemented the main three issues with the machine, and won't until 'early in the New Year'. Which means that the box still won't play HD recordings properly.
This really does affect dialogue heavy scenes ie it could be 'I really love you' or 'I really love your mother'. On a positive note, I haven't had any lock ups recently when watching a recording and when the box was also recording. This show is not in HD, which worries me a tad Last edited: Nov 16, It's strange that Sagemcom decided to do this on their flagship PVR when all the previous ones I have had always had the red 'A' button and the record button right on top of each other - why spoil this winning ingrediant and upset so many of us?!!!
If you still have your old remote then but for a couple of re-assigned functions it will still work with the HD box. Most of the time you wouldn't know the difference. Or use a universal remote instead. Yes I know it means more expense but would solve the problem if it annoys you so much. Geoff hammond Novice Member. Geoff hammond said:. Well put sir! I have no issue with the position of the record button not sure what the fuss is about.
As you say however there are more pressing issues which need addressing. I have also had the "glitch" on several sd recordings as I mentioned in an earlier post. Not a good sign I fear. I think we're missing the point that Caz41 and I are trying to make here and this is to ensure Sagemcom do not make this error again in one of their future products as otherwise it may put a lot of us off from buying their next installment!
On another note, I like the idea from pTd of using an remote from a previous Sagemcom model. So there's a fair solution there!!! Well I can't see the fuss about minor glitches either I can't believe it doesn't bother some of you, I feel like a child having to hold the remote with 2 hands so I can press record The one and only reason I have 2 Sagem recorders is for the list view on the guide as I cannot bear that grid view Unfortunately the Sagem is the only box on the Market that does the list view.
I would love to try another remote so I can change the record button, I've never tried one of those though and wouldn't have a clue how to program one to control the Sagem, so not too sure about going down that route.
If an old sagem PVR remote would still work, that would be great Hmmm - Remotes! My mother uses a Logitech Harmony i although I did the setup on the computer - well she is Also anyone else find series being put straight into a folder annoying.
